SynMax est un matériau entièrement synthétique, sûr et biocompatible qui, une fois placé dans un environnement osseux, sert d'échafaudage ostéoconducteur favorisant l'ingrowth et la fusion de l'os vital adjacent. Il est composé à 60 % d'hydroxyapatite et à 40 % de phosphate tricalcique bêta. Après implantation, le matériau subit un remodelage naturel, se résorbe progressivement et est remplacé par de l'os néoformé.
