iVac® Apical Negative Pressure Irrigation and Activation System

Pac-Dent, Inc.

The iVac® System is designed to be used during the root canal treatment irrigation phase, preferably connected to a piezo ultrasonic handpiece. The system combines three key concepts: ultrasonic vibration for chemical-mechanical cleaning, negative pressure to prevent fluid extrusion beyond the foramen, and concomitant irrigation with continuous fluid renewal. The system comprises an aspiration/activation cannula with two options of outside diameters (.35mm and .50mm). The iVac® ultrasonic connector easily holds the cannula and delivers irrigating liquid while transmitting vibration from the piezo ultrasonic handpiece. The system avoids the risk of irrigant extrusion while allowing effective cleaning and disinfection to the working length, and is particularly useful in cases requiring irrigation depth control such as young teeth, apexification, regeneration, and apical foramen resorptions.
